Perlis Open Chess Challenge 2009 |
Kilang Gula
Felda Perlis will be organising Gula Perlis Open Chess
Challenge 2009 on 16th May 2009 at Dewan Sek Men Teknik Kangar, Perlis. This is
a national rated event and it's open to all chess players nationwide. Time
control for each player is 30 minutes. The tournament is offering total
cash prizes of RM4,240 for up to 57 winners including 10
lucky
draws. Closing date for registration is 11th May 2009.

Kids for Chess Program & Imagine
Software, welcomes you to its 5th Chess Camp for children. The course
has been designed to be fun and informative for the absolute beginner, the
intermediate player as well as the aspiring tournament player. With this camp,
we are proud to announce the following list of players who collectively have
more than 100 years of chess experience:

Entry fee is a flat rate of RM
90 per student for the 2-day Chess Camp. All Chess equipment will be

Tournament Regulations
-
This is an individual tournament, open to all players.
-
There
are two groups of play: Open category for all players, and Challenger
category for players rated below 2000 (FIDE ratings) or national rating
1750 and below.
-
FIDE
(International Chess Federation) rules and regulations shall apply.
Results will be sent for FIDE rating calculations.
-
Both groups will be played using the Swiss System, with 9 rounds for Open and Challenger.
-
For the pairings, a Swiss Manager program will be used.
-
Five
minutes before the games start, the Chief Arbiter shall make the
announcement accordingly. If any player is not present within an hour
after the game is started, he shall lose by default.
-
FIDE
regulations apply for mobile phones, which must be switched off during
playing times. Penalty is automatic loss of game.
-
Officials and players should be smartly attired at all times while in the playing hall.
